Years 3 & 4

In Year 3/4 we are following the Talk for Writing program, which we are absolutely loving. The students are enjoying the acting out and oral phase of this program and we definitely have some up and coming thespians in Middle Primary. Every child has improved their writing ability and it is exciting to watch these students becoming confident writers. Throughout Design and Technology we learnt about renewable and non-renewable energy. We enjoyed creating a renewable energy model that included all of the renewable energy sources we had learnt about. Our favourite lesson in Design and Technology was when we built solar ovens to cook s’mores. They were delicious and it was interesting to investigate how the solar ovens worked to trap in the heat. We have also been learning our times tables throughout the year and working on moving our “Ninjas” up the time tables ladder. The students love to challenge themselves and have surprised themselves with their improvement.
