Years 1 & 2
St Michael's Catholic Primary School
Years 1 & 2
In lower primary, we enjoyed learning about writing through our modelled texts in Talk for Writing. We love learning our modelled texts through using actions and role play. We relish the opportunities where we innovate on our class story map by changing our characters and events. We are developing a passion for writing by delving deeper into our ‘tool-boxes’ to use a myriad of elements to enhance our writing.
St Michael's Catholic Primary School
Years 1 & 2
In HASS we were amazed by how much our world has changed from the past to the present. Especially learning how technology has revolutionised the way we live and learn. We loved expanding our classroom to the wider community to explore how things were done in the past, with a visit to the old school and farm at Alverstoke. We saw with our own eyes the hardships early settlers would have faced in their everyday living and farming. This unit allowed us to capture a snap-shot of early Catholic Education, this was fitting for the celebration of 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. We ventured into greater Bunbury to the old Convent now commonly known as the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery. We got a glimpse of the old building and how the Sisters of Mercy lived and taught. And of course… we got to create our own artistic masterpiece while we were there.
In Year 1/2 we love to learn, create and explore.
Encouraging life-long learning
